The Brazilian Butt Lift uses fat from your own body — harvested by liposuction — to add volume and reshape the buttocks naturally. No implants, no foreign material.
The Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a two-part procedure: fat is first harvested from donor areas (abdomen, flanks, back, or thighs) using liposuction, then purified and injected into the buttocks to add volume and improve shape.
The dual benefit is that you simultaneously slim the donor areas and enhance the gluteal region — improving your overall body proportion.
Dr. Chung performs this procedure with strict safety protocols. The fat is injected only into the subcutaneous layer, never intramuscularly, following the current safety guidelines established by plastic surgery boards worldwide.
Dr. Chung reshapes and repositions the gluteal area for a firmer, lifted, more projected result — with natural-looking curves.
Increases gluteal projection and volume for a fuller, rounder appearance — using your own fat (no implants).
Reshapes the gluteal area for more feminine, proportional curves — correcting flat or square buttocks.
Lifts sagging skin and tissue for a higher, tighter gluteal position — restoring a more youthful appearance.
Liposuction of waist, flanks and lower back performed simultaneously creates a more dramatic hourglass effect.
Fat can be distributed to the hips as well for a complete hip-to-buttock enhancement.
Using your own fat eliminates implant-related risks and achieves exceptionally natural feel and appearance.
Dr. Chung and his team accompany you throughout your entire recovery to ensure the best possible results.
Typically 60–80% of the transferred fat survives long-term. Some absorption occurs in the weeks following surgery. Dr. Chung accounts for this when determining transfer volume.
You should avoid direct pressure on the buttocks for the first 2–3 weeks. Dr. Chung will provide specific guidance on positions, pillows, and activity restrictions during recovery.
Fat transfer avoids the risks associated with foreign implants (capsular contracture, displacement, infection). However, BBL requires a sufficient donor volume of fat. Dr. Chung evaluates the best option for each case.
Results are long-lasting if you maintain a stable weight. The surviving fat cells behave like normal fat — they can shrink or grow with significant weight changes.
If you have limited donor fat, Dr. Chung will discuss alternatives including gluteal implants or a combination approach. This is evaluated at your consultation.
