How is the jaw remodeling operation performed ?
The procedure of remodeling the jaw is performed by two intraoral incisions, one on each side. In this way the angle of the jaw is approached, in order to remodel it and make it more feminine. The mucosa is then closed and a bandage is placed.

This surgery usually lasts 2 hours, this depends on the technique used, the place where the implant will be located, the anatomy of the patient and the kind of anesthesia applied.
It is necessary to remain hospitalized for a day.
You will have a bandage around your face, you will have intraoral stitches which you could feel and dissolve in a period of 45 days. Oral hygiene is of vital importance throughout the postoperative period, effective brushing and the use of mouth rinses.
Rest is an important part of recovery, so you should keep some days of calm after surgery, and avoid lowering your head below the waist. Also, it is advisable to sleep the first days after surgery with the head raised above the feet.
Absolute rest is recommended during the first 5 days of surgery and 7 days with relative rest. It is important that you follow your doctor's recommendations to the letter, as this can guarantee a faster and healthier recovery.
